About Us

Suzy Nachtsheim is the owner of Clear English Editing Services. She has been teaching and editing English since 1977. Her qualifications include

• Master’s degree in English
• TESL Canada Professional Certificate, Permanent Standard 3 (the highest certificate awarded)
• Certificate of Technical Communication

Suzy has been teaching English as a Second Language at Malaspina University-College in British Columbia since 2002. Before that, she spent 20 years working in Japan as an Associate Professor at Tamagawa University, an editor for Tuttle Publishing Company, and as a language consultant for the Yokohama City Board of Education and Matsuka Phonics Institute.

An active member of several professional organizations, Suzy has established excellent working relationships with other English teachers and editors. She is a member of the Editors’ Association of Canada (EAC), the Professional Editors Association of Vancouver Island (PEAVI), Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), and the Japan Association of Language Teachers (JALT). As a result, Clear English Editing Services has access to a broad network of professionals in these fields.
